About The Foundation
The Chi Chi Rodriguez Youth Foundation
was built upon an idea conceived when Bill
Hayes, a teacher, golfer, and part-time detention officer, invited
professional golfer Juan "Chi Chi" Rodriguez to a juvenile detention
center in Florida to give a golf clinic for the detained youngsters.
Chi Chi and Bill agreed that there had to be a better way to help
these adolescents succeed. The Hayes-Rodriguez team enlisted Bob
James, founder of Raymond James Financial, Inc. and the three of
them embarked on building the Foundation.
The Foundation is a not for profit 501(c) 3 organization, which supports the Chi Chi Rodriguez Academy. Whether kids struggle in school, socially or just want to learn golf, all are welcome at Chi Chi's and we have a program for them. Check out how the Foundation works and learn more about the 3 programs of the Academy below.
Other people who have put their blood, sweat, tears and money into the foundation are shown in the Footsteps of Champions, just outside the Pro Shop by the Flag Pole.
